General Appearance: Curtis Howard is a Caucasian male. He stands at an average height of six feet one inch and keeps in good physical shape when most men his age are letting themselves slide. His hair is naturally black but signs of grey are starting to show, from time to time these grey patches disappear with the help of hair dye but the fact that he does so is no great secret. Psychological Profile

Basic Personality: Curtis is the type of person to wear his personality on his sleeve, the moment you see him stand in his uniform you can see what type of man he is. He wears it with pride, his back rigidly straight and his posture near perfect you can see he loves his work. He feels that as captain It is his duty to be everything the Federation claims to be, fair, honest and just and that shows itself in the way he commands as he has often caught people off guard by asking them how they believe they should proceed before he makes his final decision. Coming from a military family Curtis knows what the importance of the crew coming together and he often takes his meals in the mess with the rest of the crew. When he is troubled it is easy to tell as he keeps himself apart and sticks in his quarters.

Faults: Overly merciful: Whilst Curtis is a brilliant strategist he does have a slight problem when it comes to being ruthless, if a ship was to surrender he would allow it to leave unharmed, which could lead to bad situations when dealing with races who are devious and don't mind shooting you in the back.

Rigidly proper: Curtis is every cliché of what an ageing starship captain, he believes in the dignity of the position and whilst he believes in good team togetherness that only goes so far, he finds it uncomfortable talking with people who have personal problems of a rather delicate matter and can sometimes find it hard offering advice to people when the question isn't about the job.

Snobbish: For the most part Curtis is kind and courteous to all but in his mind he often thinks about people of lower stature then himself in a derogatory way. He tends to feel different about his crew and would never voice such opinions out loud but sometimes such prejudges can cloud is opinions.


Strengths: Strategist: Curtis is a master of strategy and has been studying it since he was a boy. He is extremely adapt at both military and negotiation strategy. Whilst he wasn't able to 'win' the Kobayashi Maru scenario he was able to destroy one of the Klingon ships before his was destroyed.

Level headed: When in a stressful situation Curtis is good at staying calm, he keeps his emotions inside and tries to think of the best outcome to the situation.

Experienced: Whilst this is his first time as captain of his own vessel Curtis has been part of Star fleet for years and has served on several vessels. He has watched captains perform their tasks and has taken note of what to and not to do in certain situations.



History: Curtis Howard was born in Stamford Connecticut to a well off family. His Father was a commander in star fleet and his Mother was a medical officer on the same ship. When Curtis was born his Mother left her job and switched to working as a Doctor on Earth to give her son a stable living environment. Wilson Howard was his son's idol growing up, whenever he came home he would fascinate the boy with stories of adventure and wonder that even now Curtis isn't sure which were true and which were invented to keep him happy. It was then that young Curtis decided he wanted to be a star ship captain. His Father had him learn about negotiation and military strategy, in the process making Curtis in to a keen chess player.

In his mid teens he excelled at school and became the state chess champion but he and his Father had both geared his education towards merits that would have him accepted in to Star Fleet. As soon as he left high school at eighteen he enrolled in the training academy in San Francisco and begun officer training. It was during his training that he met Jessica Howard on an evening out and the two began a relationship. After his training Curtis became an Ensign aboard the Sovereign class ship USS Divinity. With Curtis being away all the time it put a strain on the relationship but they often sent messages to each other and in the brief times that he was on Earth he spent every moment with her. Eventually at the age of 25 the now Lieutenant Commander Curtis Howard took some long earned leave and married Jessica and two years later they had a beautiful daughter they named Susan.

Unfortunately for the new family Curtis had to leave planet again to travel with the USS Divinity. He worked harder then ever now but it took him until the age of 39 to reach the rank of Commander of the Diversity after an encounter with a hostile Klingon ship killed the previous second in command. He served proudly with the ship until the current day where he has been selected to captain the USS Endevour.
